I got my 17/9 snowflake wheels. now I want to lower the car. I'm going with 2" drop spindles in the front. but how do I lower the rear? blocks or de-spring the leafs? I have new leafs for it. and need a tire size that wont stick out of the car.

Yeah, Id go with new springs (sorry since you already have new springs, but you can probably re-sell them). There are lots of companies that make springs with different degrees of drop.

I agree, talk to Dave before buying anything . He'll help ya out. You'll have a better handling car than drops/blocks and avoid drivability issues.

I think its nice though Im a bit ol' school and actually prefer leaf springs, but I know alot of people will recommend differently. Looks like they could kill you in price on options though.

An air ride system is what Id go with if money were no object, unfortunately Ive never experienced a "money is no object" moment in my life, lol. I guess you're more of a purist type if you're worried about hiding the tank and pump? Me personally just mounting it in the trunk is fine by me. Im not really sure of the size but maybe hanging it from the underside of the package shelf in the trunk? That would'nt be too noticeable at first glance. No more then those 17" wheels

you said it in you last post. (purist) so I'm going to restore my 15x7 and use the 225/70's. I like the look of mods wile keeping a some what stock appearance. but I feel there aren't enough birds going back the same way they came. My 77 will be a cloned SE , but it will be so correct you'll need the phs or look at the build sheet to tell it's not. it is how ever a 77 W72 #'s hard top, auto trans, standard trim, hood bird delete. the clone will be a Y82 Special Edition with the Hurst t-top roof. here is where I'm at with it

I have to say Im a bit disappointed, though Im sure the purists will be happy. So I guess the wheels are available at a drastically reduced price???

Darn...had to try though, right?
You know you buy springs with any different rate dont ya? Just because they're new does'nt mean a stiff bouncy ride.
