So, Im thinking, I have this '87 sitting next to my '71. Its not good for much, if anything. I'll probably sell the 305 TPI/700r4 to some Chevy lover out there, maybe even the funky rear those things came with....anyway, on to my crazy idea, the seats, specifically the front seats, has anyone seen these installed (nicely) in a second gen? My seats in my car are'nt bad, but they're already "incorrect" (choking back laughter as I talk about "correctness") as they're out of a '78. They need to be reupholstered anyway so there's nothing "great" about them. Im thinking those third gen seats reupholstered in some black leather...o.k. vinyl, would look pretty nice in there, and RECLINE. I've seen alot of 4th gen seats installed, but I already have these so it would make sense to use them. If anyone has any pics of third gen seats in a second gen, please post them.

one thing to note with the 3rd gen seats is the electronic drivers seat is about 2 inches higher than the passenger side and may cause you trouble. I'm having trouble with my wife's 3rd gen because the clown who did the conversion from left to right hand drive swapped the seats over and with the razed floor for the cat on the right hand side and the extra 2 inches on the electronic seat I don't fit in the car the steering wheel resets on my legs as I drive it.
Not sure if that helps you but it is some thing you should be aware of.

That's interesting, it helps because I never would've thought of it. Im sure I would probably try to put the 2nd gen seat tracks on the 3rd gen seats if at all possible but I was'nt even thinking Id have to clear something. As low as the 2nd gen seat rails are that might make it interesting!

See now that confuses me because I just read that 3rd and 4th gen seats are nearly identical. Did you use the 4th or 2nd gen tracks?

I used the gen 4 seat tracks and was just a matter of adding some washers and drilling I believe 2 holes. Man that was like 7 years ago already Dang time flies.

Buddy I think the same thing EVERY DAY! Unfortunately sometimes even as your income grows, so do your ideas, lol. If you only knew all the ideas floating around in my head for my car that I cant afford. Not only that but I have other vehicles that I have ideas for. What's the worst is I have ideas for cars that I dont even own!!!....yet, lol.
